- Rocks. Lots of rocks. The handle is broken because the rocks are too heavy.
- A crayola crayon.
- A Harry Potter scented marker.
- A sash from a scary Halloween costume.
- A glove from Living History Farms near Des Moines, Iowa. This hands-on museum has 4 working historic farm sites.
The basket itself is a bulk trash week find. People put out unwanted large items for bulk trash pickup, and other people come and take items before the pickup. Suburban recycling at its easiest.

wonderful drawing...
I have three boys and they have each had some marvelous collection in their midst at one point or another...
I'm afraid to ask....what DOES Harry Potter smell like?
Beautiful drawing! My daughter has baskets, boxes and other containers for stuff like that too. I never question, just stuff that's important to her alone :)
I love the shading and your description of the treasures in the basket.
I like the drawing, shading is really convincing:)
Wow! What a great basket...and I loved the contents list. Something so poignant about the little odds and ends that kids keep. The broken handle is a perfect touch.
Thank you all for your kind comments. Digital Scott: Your question made me laugh! The marker is a Harry Potter brand marker and the scent is Peppermint Humbug. What does Peppermint have to do with Harry Potter? Beats me. Even more mysterious, the marker color is blue.
