Rock-a-bye Baby

This silhouette illustrates the nursery rhyme and lullaby Rock-a-bye Baby. Here are the lyrics:

Rock-a-bye baby, in the treetop,
When the wind blows, the cradle will rock,
When the bough breaks, the cradle will fall,
And down will come baby, cradle and all.

Here is another version of this piece. In this version, I added more detail to the figures to add interest, such as the apron and hair strands. I also tried out a vertical format.

Really nice style here! In the first one it looks like she just might save that baby. In the second one I think she's going to get clobbered over the head with the falling limb :]

studio lolo: You're right ... the second illustration does make it look like the woman is going to get clobbered! It didn't occur to me until you mentioned it. I guess it wouldn't be suitable for a children's book :-)
