In Dallas, trees occasionally have toilet paper draped over them. I don't know if this is intended to be a trick or a treat. I have also lived in upstate New York and Los Angeles (Westwood), but I never saw toilet paper on trees until I moved to Dallas.
This is mechanical pencil on Strathmore Bristol Vellum. I started with a photograph of a house and some trees, which I modified for the purposes of the illustration.

This was a very big thing back in New England as I was growing up. This, and throwing eggs at houses and cars. Ypu'd always hear comments like "Hey, did you see so and so's house got TP'd?", or egged. Some traditions are moronic, but when you're twelve, it's hilarious! Very nice drawing, by the way.
Great illustration. very nice.
Thanks, Mike and Laurel. So toilet paper is a trick, not a treat. TP on a tree reminds me of streamers at a party ... very festive. That is why I thought maybe it was a treat! :-)
